Search Engine Optimization (SEO) Education Center
In its simplest form, SEO is the process of optimizing your web page(s) to rank for key terms or phrases on the search engines.
To be quite frank, just having a website does not guarantee you’ll be found. And being found isn’t enough, may users never look past the first page of search results.
Getting your website on the first page of the SERP (search engine results page) for a specific keyword takes diligent research and work. There is a lot of competition out there.
But the #1 reason you need to be doing SEO for your website…your competition is doing it. Don’t get left behind the competition.
SEO can increase the visibility of your brand and your business.
It will help you create a more user-friendly website, when your users are happy, the search engines are happy as well. By following SEO on-page best practices, you can improve the user experience and create lasting long-term benefits.
SEO will help you explore new markets and new customers. By performing extensive research on your competitors and keywords, you can expand your websites reach.
This answer isn’t so simple. The truth is, it depends. There are many factors which need to be taken into consideration, and no two sites are alike. We do recommend a minimum of a 6 month commitment.
You could expect your SEO project to look at bit like this:
- Research and discovery, website audit, competitor audit, keyword planning and strategy.
- Technical (onsite) SEO strategy. This may be simple modifications or a complete website overhaul.
- Focus on the content strategy, blogging, whitepapers, eBooks and/or freemium content.
- Implementing your new great content, while continuing to generate more.
- Social media strategy implementation along with continued wok on content strategy and additional adjustments to any technical elements.
- Look at conversion rate optimization and continue on with your social and content strategy.
Keep in mind, SEO is an ongoing endeavor. Once you have laid the foundation, don’t stop, you should still be continually striving to move your content up the search engine food chain. If you’re not, you could lose ground to your competition.
